Pulling a fast one on my husband

Let me ask you this.  Does your husband or significant other have a mental inventory of every piece of clothing you have in your closet?  Mine does.  It annoys.  And I have many a pair of pants to keep track of.  You'd think I would be able to slip one scarf past this man.  But no, he can't be fooled.

Fall fashion.  I adore it.  The boots, the coats, the scarfs, the cozy cashmere sweaters.  Most of the time it comes up from Chicago via Rosie's store.  But there has been one clothing line I have had my eye on for quite some time, and their fall line was too good to pass up.  Have a look at Emerson Fry.  I have never owned a piece of animal printed clothing in my life.  I don't have an issue with it, as long as it is used in moderation.  The first piece that caught my eye was this zebra printed top from their summer line, but I never bought it.

The second piece was this amazing leopard print coat.  It is definitely a statement piece. And a statement piece is never going to get past the old ball and chain.  NEVER.  So I thought it would be better to just tell him before he noticed.

The second thing I ordered were these amazing booties.  I hate that word by the way.  It sounds so juvenile.  Let's call them boots from here on out. I have had them in my closet for a few weeks since they arrived in the post.  After giving Rowan and James a look at my coat, James says "and how much did the black boots cost you?" How does he know this stuff?  I presumed he had found the shoes in my closet, and I was busted.  Turns out James was just joking; he had no clue about the boots.  So I just outed myself when I started to murmur that they weren't that expensive.  It works out for the best this way...now that he knows, I can wear them outside rather than just staring at them longingly in the closet.

It's in the mail...

A big thanks to everyone who bought stamps over the past week. This is the first time I have ever sold any scrapbook supplies and with the amount of e-mails that poured in, getting them cleaned, packaged and mailed in a timely fashion was a workout! Oh, and you know..there is that job that I have, that kid I need to look after, dogs to pat, a husband to boss around... I didn't have the opportunity to package everyone's stamps as lovely as this one. Straight vanilla for the first round that went out about a week ago. I assumed that most would like to get them faster and sacrifice on the pretty. However, I may be talking to the wrong crowd...Skimping on the pretty may be a crime with this here gang. If that is the case, please forgive me. This weekend my mother in law took the little guy for the night so I had the opportunity to spiff some of them up a wee bit. This one is on its way to a gal name Colleen...

I hope they found happy new homes, and I would love to see what you do with them once you have had the opportunity to use them!

I Must Be Crazy

I have decided to really clean house as far as stamps go and I think that is going to make some folks very happy campers.  Looking for your best offer.  Please e-mail me at michelle_springer@hotmail.com  I would like to keep communication to that one e-mail address rather than posting comments on my blog, on Two Peas, Studio Calico etc...

If you have any questions, please let me know.  Good luck!

Updated to add - I will entertain offers until midnight tonight and then will close bidding. I am already getting flooded with e-mails, so I will wait until after midnight to address them. These are some of my favourite stamps EVER, I would have put a pretty high price tag on most of these stamps, but I want to be reasonable and allow most people an opportunity to be able to purchase them. That is why I am leaving the bidding to you guys. Highest bidders at midnight will receive the stamps. If there are more than one person with the same highest bid, I'll go by time it was received. Earliest time will get the stamp.

Project Life Update

Amazingly, I have been keeping up-to-date with Project Life.  Some weeks I enjoy putting it together, and some weeks are tedious.  I am one of those people who needs to finish a project once I have started or I will obsess about it.  So, I will finish it.  You can be sure I'll be taking a PL hiatus next year. I do love looking through the album and so does my family.  That is definitely why I keep pushing forward. I don't plan to blog every week's spread, but I thought I would put up a few just for fun.

Week 15 - I was in California this week visiting my friend Amy who was getting hitched. I have been using the Smash journaling cards a ton. Elle's Studio and Bananafish Studio usually make an appearance every week as well.  I had a big order from Two Peas shipped to Amy's house in California, so that I could take advantage of free shipping and no duty. I bought the majority of the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook collection. I absolutely love the bright colours, so that line is used in the next several pages. Let's take a moment to talk about fashion shall we?  Do you see those Jimmy Choos?!  They were Amy's wedding shoes, and they were fierce. I also got my fix of Mexican food.  I haven't been able to find a good Mexican restaurant in Toronto, and Gino (Amy's husband) is Mexican, so he hooked me up.

Week 16 - I talked about my return flight from California to Toronto. The most turbulent flight I have ever been on, and that says a lot.  I traveled every week for eight years while at IBM USA.  It was bad.  Pills were popped at the end of that flight.  James and I went out with some friends to a great restaurant called the Playpen.  Horrible name for a restaurant. Sounds like a strip club, or a children's activity centre ;) Despite the name, the food was amazing and it had a very kitchy vibe.
I broke out the Studio Calico wood veneers, Amy Tangerine Sketchbook diecut bits, more Smash journaling cards, and some flair from an etsy shop called a flairforbuttons. Flair would be a slight obsession of mine lately.  I am stoked to get my order from Marcy Penner.  Have you seen these flair?! I die.

Week 17/18 - I incorporated the Heidi Swapp file folders that were in the Studio Calico May kit called 35mm.  Most of the products used during this week are from that kit.  I wasn't sold on the Cosmo Cricket 2wenty-Thr3e paper when I saw it online, but I love it in person.

Week 19 - Just a one page spread for last week.  I love the Instagram stamp that is part of the Studio Calico Adventure stamp set.

Hope you enjoyed taking a peak!

RAK

I had a little ordering mishap a few months back and ended up getting duplicates of many of the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan line products.  I thought I would share the love today.  This is the little RAK I have put together.  The products have never been used, and need to find a good home.  Just leave a message on my blog to enter, and I will choose a winner on Monday, May 28th. Internationals are welcome to enter. Good luck!

Daydream Believer

The colours of Studio Calico's Daydreamer Believer kit were just the medicine that the doctor ordered this month.  I am dreaming of far away beaches, hazy days, and summer cottages.  The watercolours in the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection are soothing and looked amazing with some of the girls photoshoot pictures I have had in recent years.

Those butterflies are from The Guilded Bee and they are perfection.  I have a vintage muffin tin filled with an assortment on my desk right now.  I couldn't put the Dear Lizzy collection down, au contraire, I just placed a big order with Bluemoonscrapbooking.com to have some more shipped.  I have been dying to get my hands on these euphemia flowers pictured below!

Project Life 2012

I wanted to post the first few weeks of Project Life for my friend Robyn to get a visual of what lies ahead of her.  She just had a baby boy, and although she is not a scrapbooker, she came across PL on my blog and is contemplating starting the project to document her little guy James first year of existence.

This project is time consuming, but I am getting so much positive feedback from my family, I keep forging on. For whatever reason, this project intrigues my family more than my scrapbook pages.  Admittedly, it has been fun for me to flip through it too.  I am amazed at the amount of information that I have already forgotten over a period of a few weeks.

Title Page - Lots of Studio Calico stamps being to put to use. The "This" negative tag is by a company called Ormolu.  I have incorporated many of their tags into PL.

Week One - More Ormolu tags.  Lots of Amy Tangerine embellishments, and journaling cards by Marcy Penner.  I am also reaching for Elle's Studio tags quite a bit.

Week Two - I have struck a really good balance between memorabilia, photos and journaling with PL.  I am also trying to resist the urge to buy more of anything for this project and use my stash. But there are loads of journaling tags out there right now that are making me a little weak in the knees. Especially the goodies from Bananafish Studio.  I have not been quick enough on the draw though.  Her stuff has sold out in minutes the past few times she has restocked her store.

Week Three

Week Four

 Week Five

 Week Six

 Week Seven

I have also completed week eight, but it has a good deal of journaling that I would like to keep private.  So Robyn, are you convinced? :)
