A recent twitter post by Sarah Rhoads reminded me of a magical little book that has a great message. Her tweet said "you can either fit in or stand out, never both". A friend from the Netherlands came to visit me last summer, and as a parting gift he gave me a book called Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. It is a sweet story that celebrates nonconformity, selflessness and honesty. The thought that this book reminded him of me is super flattering, as the message of the book just speaks to me.
